My Philosophy |
|
The beginning…. I first thought about becoming a celebrant through funerals. When a close relative passed away I was amazed at the lovely things that can be said to help during this traumatic time. There are marvellous words out there that make things just that bit better. I subsequently attended a particular wedding and was disappointed not to be able to hear the couple’s vows during the ceremony because of the background noise – a waterfall. So much thought and preparation goes into a wedding day I feel that the ceremony should be as memorable to those at the wedding as well as the couple, otherwise why invite guests? I was approached to be a funeral celebrant and decided that I would prefer to start with happy occasions and so, weddings it was! The now……… My attitude is: Your wedding, your day along with guidance from me, to make your special occasion just the way you want it to be! Working with you both, I’ll come up with suggestions for readings and vows to help you decide on your unique ceremony or you may well opt for original words. My public speaking experience includes debating in school, acting and giving speeches at large community gatherings (300+ people). The future…………… I’ll ensure that everything is done in a professional manner and legally, giving you one less thing to worry about for your big day. Having had solid administrative experience over the past 20 years or so, you can rest assured that the service you receive from me will have integrity, enthusiasm, originality and professionalism. With a year’s experience of conducting weddings, I am now ready for funerals. More information funerals. Looking forward to being of service! ©Gillian Grant CMC, May 2008 Revised July 2010 |
